Defence Services Commander-in-Chief General Ye Win Oo attended the opening ceremony of the newly constructed South Dagon Mall at the corner of the Bayintnaung Road and No 7 Highway, near the Myanmar Thagaung War Veteran Housing (Laydauntkan), yesterday.
After the
ceremonial procedures, the Myanmar War Veterans Organization Central Executive
Committee chairman explained the establishment of South Dagon Mall, and he
presented commemorative gifts to the General.
The General
then posed for a documentary photo with attendees and observed shops in the
mall.
Located at
the corner of the Bayintnaung Road and No 7 Highway, the South Dagon Mall is a
three-storey reinforced-concrete building developed to provide shopping and
employment opportunities for housing residents and local communities.
The mall
includes furniture shops, restaurants, electrical appliance stores, minimarts,
clothing and cosmetics shops, jewellery stores and banks. It also features a
cinema, escalators and a solar power system designed to reduce electricity
consumption.
