ALTHOUGH the Thingangyun General Hospital in Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region, does not have specialist cardiologists or neurologists, it continues to admit and treat patients as a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Medicine 2.
Patients
with heart, brain, and neurological illnesses receive emergency exams,
treatment, and lifesaving care from professors, associate professors, and
general medicine specialists. Once their conditions have stabilized, they may
be transferred by ambulance to the North Okkalapa General Hospital.
Arrangements can also be made for admission to the Yangon General Hospital at
the request of patients or their families.
The
Thingangyun General Hospital also provides medical examinations, care and
treatment to the public. The 500-bed teaching hospital offers training in 20
specialist disciplines and has been provided with the necessary medical staff,
medicines, supplies and equipment.
