A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe attended the 2026 Conference of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum, held from 8 to 10 September in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, the People’s Republic of China, at the invitation of the Ministry of Public Security of China.
On the morning of 9
September, the Union minister met a Chinese delegation led by Minister of
Public Security Mr Wang Xiaosong. They discussed cooperation between the two
countries on security and law enforcement.
The Union minister also
attended the opening ceremony of the forum and delivered a speech. He said
Myanmar supports international and bilateral cooperation to address
cross-border security threats and welcomes China’s Global Security Initiative
(GSI). He also highlighted cooperation in combating cross-border crimes,
including online scam networks, through information sharing and law
enforcement.
On 10 September, the
Myanmar delegation attended the Inaugural Conference of the International
Alliance Combatting Telecom and Cyber Fraud. The delegation also visited a
public security technology exhibition at Huizhou Bayview Conference Centre.
During the visit, Myanmar and China exchanged views on strengthening security
and law-enforcement cooperation and achieved positive results.
The Union minister-led
delegation arrived back in Yangon yesterday morning.
