IN pursuit of the President’s guidance, Myanma Railways under the Ministry of Transport will operate a modern DEMU air-conditioned passenger express train on the Yangon-Mandalay-Yangon railway commencing on 1 May 2026, according to the following schedule: -
The
Yangon-Mandalay-Yangon route will include stops at Toegyaungkalay, Bago,
Nyaunglebin, Toungoo, Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw, Yamethin, Thazi, and Kyaukse
stations. The fare is K48,000 for upper class and K34,000 for first class. The
modern air-conditioned DEMU passenger express train 31 Up/32 Down will operate
on the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon section in line with the following schedule.
It will stop at Toegyaungkalay, Bago, DaikU, Toungoo, and Pyinmana stations,
and the fares will remain the same.
The
air-conditioned modern DEMU passenger express train 7 Up/8 Down will operate on
the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon railway according to the schedule below. It will
stop at Toegyaungkalay, Bago, Pyu, Toungoo, and Pyinmana stations, and the
fares will remain the same.
DEMU
passenger express trains 5 Up/6 Down operate on the Yangon-Mandalay-Yangon
railway, while 31 Up/32 Down operate on the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon section.
Seat tickets for the air-conditioned DEMU passenger express trains 7 Up/8 Down
will be available for purchase through the Online Railways Ticketing and
Payment (ORTP) system. As the number of train passengers increases, Myanma
Railways will expand routes and add additional coaches to provide more
convenient travel.
