THE South-East Asia and the Pacific (SEAP) Studies Centre - Myanmar has announced that a five-week Foundation Course in ASEAN Studies, focusing on core ASEAN-related topics, will be held at the Secretariat in Yangon.
According to
U Kyaw Dewa, founder of the centre, the course aims to promote ASEAN academic
studies while enhancing the knowledge of ASEAN affairs among young people. It
is highly recommended for diploma graduates, government officials, NGO staff
and interested individuals.
The opening
ceremony will feature an introductory speech via Zoom by Dr Tin Maung Maung
Than, and the curriculum will be delivered by a panel of experts, including Dr
Tin Maung Maung Ohn, Dr Khaing Khaing Win, U Kyaw Dewa and Daw Khaing Su Yi
Zaw.
U Kyaw Dewa
explained that while the program will initially launch as a certificate course,
there are plans to expand into diploma programmes in the future. It is
scheduled to take place on weekends from 6 June to 5 July on the first floor of
the Secretariat. Only 60 students will be accepted, and the fee is K250,000. It
is open to those with a diploma-level qualification or higher, with no age
