UNION Chief Justice U Tha Htay attended the auspicious ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the new Kachin State High Court building at the designated construction site in Mankhein Ward, Myitkyina, at 9 am yesterday.
The
ceremony took place at the pavilion on the compound where the new building will
be constructed. Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, Northern Command
Commander Maj-Gen Aung Zaw Htwe, member of the National Defence and Security
Council’s Central Advisory Body Daw Dwe Bu, Kachin State High Court Chief
Justice Daw Aye Aye Maw and justices of the Kachin State High Court attended
and took their designated seats. They consecrated the site with perfumed water
and performed the foundation stone laying rites.
Union
Chief Justice U Tha Htay poured ceremonial gold, silver and jewels to mark the
auspicious occasion, and then inspected the construction area.
The
building will be constructed under strategic area (1), Strategic Goal 1.4 and
Programme 1.4.1 of the third year work plan (2025) of the five-year judicial
strategic plan (2023-2027). The four-storey reinforced concrete building,
measuring 206 feet in length and 135 feet in width, will be constructed by G3
Group Limited.
