MYANMAR deported three Malawians for their involvement in telecom fraud and destructive actions via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II yesterday. Myanmar authorities officially handed over the deportees and the necessary legal documents to ensure their smooth repatriation.
Between 30
January and 23 April 2025, a total of 9,032 illegal immigrants were identified
and detained in Myanmar. Of this number, 7,311 individuals have already been
deported through Thailand to their respective countries, while arrangements are
being made to deport the remaining 1,720 individuals. These individuals are
currently under detention while awaiting repatriation.
The
government is strictly cracking down on online scams and online gambling by
cooperating with other countries, including neighbouring countries, especially
through the Myanmar-China-Thailand Trilateral Cooperation, and systematically
transferring the foreigners involved in these operations.
