Vice-Senior General Soe Win noted that MSME businesspersons have to know the demands of importer countries and their disciplines, international trade measures, and trading restrictions of countries.
A meeting to
hold the Union-Level MSME product exhibitions and competitions took place at
the meeting hall of the Ministry of Industry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday
afternoon, with an address by Chairman of the MSME Development Work Committee
Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister
Vice-Senior General Soe Win.
In his
speech, the Vice-Senior General pointed out that businesspersons and officials
need to organize discussions to understand changes in customer behaviours,
technology, information, investment, and market trends at home and abroad,
digital system transformation, and implementation of online banking systems.
He noted
that they have to study the transformation of the in-person purchase system to
an online marketing system, and the use of products by the people.
He continued
that those businesspersons need to apply online marketing and online payment
systems on a wider scale if they follow the market transformation process.
The
Vice-Senior General underscored that advanced products will emerge from MSME
exhibitions and competitions, and the export of these products can earn foreign
exchange.
With
regarding efforts to export their quality products, he highlighted that MSME
businesspersons have to know the demands of importer countries and their
disciplines, international trade measures, for example, requirements of permit
from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China
(GACC) to export products to China and trading restrictions of other countries.
Union
Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than reported on plans for the MSME
exhibitions and competitions, products to be displayed by ministries, regions
and states including Nay Pyi Taw, prizes for competitions, and implementation
of the guidance of the Prime Minister.
Chairman of
the Organizing Work Committee Deputy Minister for Industry U Yin Maung Nyunt
presented the formation of subcommittees and arrangements for the exhibitions
and competitions.
After
hearing the successful holding of the event in their respective sectors
presented by officials, the Vice-Senior General gave necessary remarks.
Also present
at the meeting were Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo and officials.
The
exhibitions and competitions will take place at Tabaung Ground, south of
Uppatasanti Pagoda, in Nay Pyi Taw from 10 to 14 February. It will accommodate
some 80 booths of ministries, regions and states, traditional ethnic foods,
business-to-business linkages, technological booths, foreign machinery and
product booths, small-scale industries and manufacturing cooperative booths,
and 31 kinds of products will be honoured with awards.
Union-level
MSME product exhibitions and competitions aim to continuously enhance the
products and services of MSME businesses, to use new value-added products at
home and penetrate foreign markets, and enhance collaborative efforts among
MSME businesses in regions and states to supply the needs of regions each other
in the production chain and seek weak and strong points of processes, encourage
relevant one region-one product businesses to have success, further create
linkages between MSME businesses and internal and external investors, award
Union level MSME model product prizes and enable MSME businesses to operate in
the long run.
