False reports spread on security forces’ actions in Kyaukhmaw Village

 

Malicious news media spread false reports that two civilians were injured and five houses were destroyed due to heavy weapon fire by security forces in Kyaukhmaw Village, Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, on 15 January.

Upon enquiry with a local security official, it was confirmed that security forces conducted necessary security operations to maintain peace and stability in the area. During this time, terrorists attacked there from a distance using heavy weapons and drones, causing shells to explode within the village. As a result, some security personnel and civilians sustained injuries.

These malicious news media outlets intentionally circulate misleading information to cover up terrorists’ actions and to create misunderstandings among the public about security forces.
