SAC Chairman Office Union Minister 2 receives UNHCR AP Regional Bureau Director

 

Union Minister for the Ministry 2 at the Office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council U Ko Ko Hlaing received the delegation led by Ms Hai Kyung Jun, Director of UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, yesterday at the parlour of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

They cordially exchanged views to cooperate between Myanmar and UNHCR to share updated information on the government’s efforts for the relief, rehabilitation and recovery in the wake of current floods triggered by Typhoon Yagi, to provide humanitarian assistance effectively to the victims of floods and people from hard-to-reach areas, implementing emergency response and rehabilitation programmes in accord with “No one left behind” principle the of the government. The Union minister also advised them to follow the principle of existing Myanmar Disaster Management (SOP) and properly extend MoUs with the ministries concerned.

U Naing Swe Oo, Director-General and senior officials of the Ministry at the Office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council were also present at the meeting.
