As part of the 2024 Nationwide Census Collection, which runs from 1 to 15 October, State Administration Council Member Mahn Nyein Maung, accompanied by Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and other regional ministers, visited Myanaung District yesterday morning to observe the ongoing census activities.
The
delegation first inspected the door-to-door census collection efforts in
Ywathit and Myoma wards in Kyangin. Later, they visited flooded farmlands in
Talinekwin Village, Kyangin Township, to oversee the distribution of
fertilizers and provide food supplies to flood-impacted farmers. In Ward 2 in
Ingapu and Tahngazel Ward (South) in Hinthada, the SAC member and his team
observed the census collection process, with support teams assisting to ensure
smooth communication, especially with language barriers.
They
also noted the active participation of residents. Following inspections, the
SAC member attended a meeting at the Hinthada Township General Administration
Department, where he emphasized the importance of public cooperation with
relevant authorities to maintain regional stability and peace.
The
chief minister then addressed the need to replant crops in the damaged fields
and provided updates on recovery efforts. Additionally, the SAC member and
officials distributed paddy seeds and fertilizers to farmers from Hinthada,
Zalun, and Laymyethna Townships, with SAC Member Mahn Nyein Maung delivering
closing remarks at the event.
