When the sun, satellite, and TVRO receiver align perfectly, a phenomenon known as sun outage occurs, causing interruptions to audio and visual transmissions via the satellite.
Sun outages typically happen in March, at the end of September, and at
the beginning of October. The duration of these outages and the resulting
signal interruptions can vary depending on the specific satellite, as well as
the size and positioning of the TVRO.
Due to the sun outage, TV channels and radio programmes transmitted by
MRTV using the Thaicom-6 satellite may experience signal interruptions lasting
from one to 18 minutes each day between 30 September and 4 October.
