Command team claims championship in 61st Tatmadaw open-class football tourney
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the awarding of the 2024 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Sports Competitions at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Sports Ground in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the 61st
Defence Services Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air)
Football Tournament 2024, the Central Command team and the Yangon Command team
opened attacks in controlling football bilaterally as both teams were powerful
enough to play the final match. In 37 minutes, the Yangon Command team scored
an opening goal, and it led the game till the end of the first half. Both teams
could not break the deadlock of the 1-0 result. As such, the Yangon Command
team won over the Central Command team with a 1-0 victory.
Next,
Chairman of the Tatmadaw Sports and Physical Education Administration Committee
Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo presented best player awards in relevant
positions and the best player of the tournament to respective players and the
fair-play award to the Commander-in-Chief (Army) Office team in the football
tournament; Lt-Gen Phone Myat of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army),
the third prize to the Commander-in-Chief (Army) team; Commander-in-Chief (Air)
General Tun Aung, the second prize to Central Command team; and
Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Htein Win, individual medals, the first
prize trophy, the duplicate trophy and cash awards to Yangon Command team,
respectively.

Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye awarded
the third championship trophy of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and
cash awards to the Central Command team, which secured the third largest number
of medals in the 2024 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Sports Competitions.

Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief
(Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win handed the second championship trophy and
cash awards to the Yangon Command team, which won the second largest number of
medals in the competitions.
The Senior
General presented the overall championship shield and cash awards to the team
manager, officer and athletes of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) team, which
swept 65 gold, 43 silver and 41 bronze medals, totalling 149 in the
competitions.
When 17
sports teams led by the parade commander left the sports ground, the Senior
General, his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and guests waved to them.
In
commemoration of the successful completion of the awarding ceremony, fireworks
were launched to conclude the ceremony.
Also present
at the ceremony were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, Daw Than Than
Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, union-level dignitaries, Union ministers
and their wives, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the
Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command,
senior officer trainees from the National Defence College, Tatmadaw members and
their families.
