86th ASEAN COSTI meetings held in Singapore

 

The 86th ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (COSTI) meetings, along with related events, were held in Singapore from 7 to 11 October.

The Myanmar delegation, led by the National COSTI Chair and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr Sai Kyaw Naing Oo, participated alongside representatives from ASEAN member states, the ASEAN Secretariat, and dialogue partner countries.

The meetings discussed outcomes from subcommittee meetings under COSTI, focusing on critical areas such as disease control, climate change, energy and food security, inclusive sustainable industrialization, mobility, and water management. They also explored the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology, and Innovation (APASTI 2026-2035) and prioritized collaboration between ASEAN member states and development partners to promote growth in these sectors.
