Successful 8th MAF-RTAF Air Working Group Meeting strengthens bilateral cooperation


 

THE 8th MAF-RTAF Air Working Group Meeting took place at the Aureum Palace Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw from 12 to 16 June, with the aim of fostering enhanced collaboration and strengthening the relationship between the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) and the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF).

The delegation, led by Air Marshal Kidkuan Sadub from the Royal Thai Air Force, arrived in Yangon on the morning of 12 June. Later that evening, the organizing secretaries from both air forces held a pre-coordination meeting at the Aureum Palace Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

The workshop commenced on 13 June, featuring opening speeches by the Chief of Staff (Air) and Thai Air Marshal Kidkuan Sadub. The decisions made during the meeting were duly approved and signed, followed by a ceremonial exchange of gifts between the delegation leaders representing both air forces. A commemorative group photo was taken to mark the occasion. In the evening, Tatmadaw (Air) hosted a dinner reception to the guests with entertaining programmes.

The Thai delegation embarked on a visit to significant landmarks in Nay Pyi Taw, including the renowned Maravijaya Buddha image, Uppatasanti Pagoda, and the captivating white elephants on 14 June.

The following day, on 15 June, the delegation paid their respects at prominent pagodas, such as Shwedagon, Ngahtetgyi, Chaukhtetkyee, and Sule, in Yangon. They also explored the vibrant Bogyoke Aung San market. As a gracious gesture, the military attaché office of Thailand hosted a dinner for the attendees.

Concluding their visit, as the delegation from the Royal Thai Air Force departed Yangon for Thailand, the Tatmadaw (Air) officers bade farewell to the Thai delegation.

The successful 8th MAFRTAF Air Working Group Meeting stands as a testament to the growing collaboration and friendship between the Myanmar Air Force and the Royal Thai Air Force, further strengthening bilateral ties.
