Paper-reading sessions, parallel discussions continue at Myanmar National Education Conference 2023

 


THE Myanmar National Education Conference 2023 continued at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning with parallel discussions for the second day.

Seven parallel discussions took place under seven titles, and resource persons read six papers in each group of panel discussions with the active participation of attendees.

Parallel discussion 1 submitted papers on regional administration, social organizations and cooperation, the creation of a healthy and happy learning society, assessment on the effectiveness of continuous assessment system, cooperation between monastic educations and private schools, and proper balance of students ratio to teachers.

Parallel discussion 2 comprised paper presentations on high enrolment rate, schooling and high transition of learning, fulfilling needs of students in learning, training teachers to enhance capacity, turning out good citizens with actual literate, patriotic and national spirits and teaching good knowledge and behaviours in basic education curriculums, and completion of school-age children in KG+9 scheme including those from border regions.

Resource persons also read their papers on the enhancement of public awareness to know learning opportunities for technical vocation and training, the extended opening of training schools to give technical, vocational and training in postKG+9 education, appointment of teachers for post-KG+9 education and enhancement of capacity, further strengthening of curriculums, assessment, qualification guarantee and management in the technical sector of the post-KG+9 education, further strengthening of curriculums, assessment, qualification guarantee and management in agriculture and livestock sector of the post-KG+9 education, and recognization certification for basic education high school by the Ministry of Education and creation of opportunities for those who completed technical, agriculture and livestock breeding high schools and vocational training schools to learn education for a lifetime in the parallel discussion 3.

Parallel discussion 4 staged the papers on the extension of learning opportunities for applying for technical vocational courses and turning out human resources, the extension of learning opportunities for applied agriculture and livestock breeding vocational courses and turning out human resources, exposing the plans for employment opportunities jointly organized by the government, private sector, partner organizations and workplaces, betterment of curriculum on modern technical and vocational subjects, enhancement of vocational education to develop socioeconomic life, and creation of chances for implementing a durable vocational education system.

Parallel discussion 5 presented the papers on teaching higher education in the environment to contribute to society in addition to having subject-wise skills, technology applied pedagogical and management system implementation, education system based on outcomes which can improve learning result, betterment of university structures and beautification of the university campus, modernization of outcomes-based curriculums, and further turning out economists for the economic development of the State.

Parallel discussion 6 mentioned the papers on inserting the graduation research project plans for undergraduate courses, the important role of higher education in the existence of natural resources and environment, food security based on technologies, the connection between university and workplace, enhancement of applied research for MSME businesses, and adoption of a framework for the development of research.

Parallel discussion 7 emphasized the papers on the insertion of plans for the adequate number of teachers in the education sector, reduction of teacher depletion and convenience in workplaces, attendance to pre-job training and on-job training, and enhancement of the capacity of teachers in technical, vocational and training sectors. In the afternoon, the paper on teacher competency standards framework and IQA to enhance the qualification of teachers, and continuous training for qualification of teachers.

Attendees participated in discussions and gave suggestions.

Students, teachers and people as well as trainees from maritime and aviation youth courses visited the education booths of the conference.
