Everybody must keep their environment and towns neat and tidy with development and to beautify the whole country: Senior General

 




I T is necessary to consider the supply of water to the full brim of lakes as well as feeding agricultural water to farmlands, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on his inspection tour of upgrading Kandaw Mingala Shankan Lake in Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday afternoon.

Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Tin Oo Lwin reported on the dredging of silt and sand from the eastern part of the lake, the use of heavy machinery, the systematic use of dredged silt and a plan to upgrade the midstreamed Buddha image and chamber of Mingala Shankan Lake.

After hearing the reports, the Senior General stressed the need to improve Kandaw Mingala Shankan Lake in Pyinmana through a systematic process. If dredging the lake is complete, it is necessary to make preparations to fill water into the lake. The Senior General disclosed that research is being conducted in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area to seek the sites of water availability. The Senior General highlighted that arrangements must be made for efficiently utilizing rainwater in monsoons without waste. He noted that it is necessary to consider the supply of water to the full brim of lakes as well as feeding agricultural water to farmlands. The Senior General stressed that everybody must keep their environment and towns neat and tidy with development and to beautify the whole country. The Senior General and party inspected progress in dredging Kandaw Mingala Shankan Lake and instructed officials to consider systematic construction of a circular path’s shoulders of the lake, sites for physical fitness exercises of the people and convenient walking.

The Senior General noted that the chamber of Shin Uppagutta statue in the lake must be lifted in parallel to the path shoulder with the new design. The path in the middle of the lake must be upgraded for public walking. Arrangements should be made to build the gravel-filled retaining walls in the coming open seasons. Shade trees and flowery plants must be grown along the circular path to create a recreation centre, the Senior General noted.

Later, the Senior General coordinated with officials and gave guidance.
