Union Minister Dr. Myint Htwe addresses opening ceremony of MRCS 81st Central Council Meeting


Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the 81st Central Council Meeting of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) was held at the assembly hall of MRCS head quarter in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union Minister called on the MRCS to lay down work plans and objectives with innovative vision as part of its efforts for speeding up its work, for quick response to emergency situation and in cooperating with the ministry. Based on the experience of the previous year, the possible situations that can be faced in the future are to be envisioned and practical strategies, work processes and plans are to be drawn and implemented.
Review the work of the past year and strengthen the weaknesses. Do more where required and reduce where there are excesses. The views and suggestions of the people on the ground are to be taken into consideration said the Union Minister.
Next MRCS President Prof. Dr. Daw Mya Thu explained about the society’s works in 2018 and future works.
Afterwards Union Minister presented honorary medals and document of honors to full time central council member U Khin Maung Hla, U Myo Min Naung and U Bone Kyaw who had served for ten years as central council members and Deputy Minister Dr. Mya Lay Sein presented document of honors to donors – Coca Cola Company and U Tin Maung (Sandi officinal material). The 81st Central Council Meeting will be held for two days, it is learnt.
