A
small police outpost stationed closed to BP 41 was attacked at 7:44 am from
about 200 meters inside the Bangladesh territory. Four bombs were launched by
the grenade launchers and some 200 shots were fired at the police post, which
is taking security for those who are upgrading the border fence. Two policeman
and one fence worker were injured.
It
is learnt that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Union of
Myanmar had invited the Ambassador of Bangladesh and informed him of incident
in order that Bangladesh, as a friendly neighbour which has a zero tolerance
policy on terrorism to prevent its territory from being used to attack Myanmar.
