THE
second-day meeting of the 2nd Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s 11th regular session was
convened yesterday at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw.

Q & A session ▄
During
the Hluttaw session, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat announced that
the Trademark Copyright Bill and the Industrial Designs Copyright Bill,
considered as approved by the Hluttaw, would be put to record.

Substitutions of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Bill Committee members ▄
Then
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker obtained the approval of the Hluttaw after the
nominations for new members for the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Bill Committee
were submitted to the Hluttaw.
Amyotha
Hluttaw representative Daw Cin Ngail May of Chin State constituency 7 was
confirmed as a new member of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Bill Committee instead
of Amyotha Hluttaw representative U Thein Lwin of Kachin State constituency 10
and Amyotha Hluttaw representative Daw Hla Htay @ Daw Ohn Kyi of Mandalay
Region constituency 4 in place of Amyotha Hluttaw representative U Soe Moe of
Ayeyawady Region constituency 1.

members ▄
Next,
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker sought the approval from the MPs for the nomination
list for new members of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Public Accounts
Committee.
Amyotha
Hluttaw representative U Myo Win of Mon State constituency 8 was appointed as
member of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Public Accounts Committee in place of of
Amyotha Hluttaw representative U Mang Law Maung of Chin State constituency 8.

Work report of the National Education Policy Commission ▄
National
Education Policy Commission Chairman Dr. Myo Kywe presented the work report of
the National Education Policy Commission for the past six months at the
Hluttaw. Then Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced that interested Hluttaw
representatives should register their names to discuss the report.

Myanma Gemstone Bill ▄
The
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Bill Committee member U Zaw Win read the findings
report of the committee and remarks of the Myanmar Gemstone Bill sent back from
the President with remarks. Following this, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker
announced that interested Hluttaw representatives should enroll their names to
discuss the report.

Bill Amending the Myanmar Accountancy Council Law ▄
The
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Bill Committee member Daw Nwe Nwe Aung clarified on
the findings report of the amending bill of the Myanmar Accountancy Council Law
that was sent back from the President with remarks. Afterwards, Pyidaungsu
Hluttaw Speaker announced that interested Hluttaw representatives should enroll
their names to discuss the bill.

Myanmar Traditional Medicine Council Bill ▄
Pyidaungsu
Hluttaw Speaker obtained a paragraph-by-paragraph decision and approval of the
Myanmar Traditional Medicine Council Bill sent back from the President with
remarks.

Medium-term debt management strategy report ▄
Hluttaw
representatives discussed the medium-term debt management strategy report 2018,
sent by the Union Government, together with a findings report (1/2019) of the
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s Joint Public Accounts Committee. Regarding this report,
Daw Cho Cho of Ottwin constituency, U Khin Cho of Hlaingbwe constituency, U Bo
Gyi of Chauk constituency, U Kan Myint of Thayet constituency, U Than Soe @
Than Soe (Economic) of Yangon Region constituency 4 and U Maung Maung Ohn of
Ayeyawady Region constituency 5 took part in the discussion.
The
next meeting of the 2nd Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s 11th regular session will be held
on 29 January.
