Vice President U Myint Swe inspects development works in Myeik

 

VICE President U Myint Swe inspected livestock breeding works, dockyard, woodworking factory, fish and prawn cold storage, rubber factory and Thamote-Lut Lut Bridge construction project in Taninthayi Region, Myeik town yesterday.

He was accompanied by Union Minister for Industry U Khin Maung Cho, Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Dr. Ye Myint Swe, Deputy Minister for Commerce U Aung Htoo, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win and departmental officials. They arrived in Myeik by air yesterday morning and were welcomed at the airport by Taninthayi Region Chief Minister Dr. Lei Lei Maw, region ministers and officials.

The Vice President and party went to Kyunsu Township, Kattalu Village by Yay Nan Thu Zar vessel and inspected the salt water shrimp breeding works conducted by Pyae Phyo Tun International Co., Ltd. where Department of Fisheries Director General U Khin Maung Maw explained about salt water shrimp breeding works with modern methods, production, market situation and future work processes.

After raising some questions the Vice President urged the officials concerned to achieve success in this pilot project. As success is achieved there’ll be more work opportunities. The Vice President also spoke of the need to prevent losses by following bio-security and the need to follow rules and regulations.

Next, the Vice President and party inspected the systematic breeding of salt water shrimp and went on to Pahtet Island and inspected the dock-yard, soft shell crab breeding works, woodworking factory, fish and prawn cold storage facilities operated by Pyae Phyo Tun International Co., Ltd. Director General U Khin Maung Maw, company manager U Thant Sin and company director Daw Myat Thiri Khaing explained about the status of soft shell crab breeding, dockyard and wood-working factory respectively.

The Vice President reminded officials of the Pyae Phyo Tun International Co., Ltd. to conduct their works on Pahtet Island without causing environmental damages. He also advised them to take responsibility for socio-environment development of local villages while conducting the company works.

In the afternoon, the Vice President and party went to Myeik Township, Pin O Village Tract, Nga Inn Village rubber crumb factory. Pho La Min Rubber Industry Work Co., Ltd. Chairman U Pho Sein explained about the factory, rubber production, market situation and future works in the factory briefing hall.

The Vice President urged the company officials to strive towards producing quality rubbers in order to penetrate into international market and then inspected the factory.

Later, the Vice President and party went to Thamote-Lut Lut Bridge construction project constructed by Special Bridge Construction Group 4 and at the project briefing hall Department of Bridge Chief Engineer U Thein Myint Mon explained about implementation of bridge construction works in the Region and Director (Civil) U Kyaw Myo Tun explained about Thamote-Lut Lut Bridge particulars, completed works and future works to complete the work within the designated time. The Vice President commented on conducting the Thamote-Lut Lut Bridge construction works according to five point quality management system and to complete the work in the designated time according to set norms and standards.
