AN anti-drug police squad in Maungtaw confiscated two
ownerless gunny sacks containing 194,805 WY/R stimulant tablets from the house
where no one lives, owned by Gura San, 58, in Kyet Yoe Pyin Village,
Maungtaw
Township on Tuesday. The drugs are estimated at K 389.61 million of street
values.
On the same day, police from law enforcement zone No.6,
Maungtaw Township also seized a plastic bucket contained 29,250 WY tablets from
a man escaped by swimming to the side of Bangladesh, during their patrol with
two vessels. The seized drugs are approximately worth K 58.5 million.
The two cases were filed under the Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law at the related police station in Maungtaw to
apprehend those who connected with the cases, according to police source.
