Ayeyawady Region Investment Fair held on Ngwehsaung Beach






The Ayeyawady Region Investment Fair was organized at the Yamonnar Oo Hotel on Ngwehsaung Beach yesterday to promote investment opportunities in the region and to help domestic entrepreneurs network with foreign investors.

The investment fair was jointly organized by the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC), the Ayeyawady Region Government, and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with the support of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Myanmar Survey Research Co. Ltd (MSR).
The Union Minister for Commerce and MIC Vice Chairman, Dr. Than Myint, Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Hla Moe Aung, regional Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Kyaw Khine, and regional Minister for Planning and Finance, U Htay Win, opened the fair with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and toured the exhibition booths. A seminar on investment was also held at the fair. The Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister delivered the keynote speech.
JICA’s chief representative, Mr. Masayuki Karasawa, and the chairman of the Ayeyawady Region Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, U Win Myint Hlaing, gave the opening speeches. Afterwards, MIC Secretary U Aung Naing Oo spoke about investment opportunities in the Ayeyawady Region. Officials then detailed investment opportunities in the agriculture, hotels and tourism, industrial, support, and transport sectors. Later, a presentation was given on the findings of the Investment Opportunity Survey and a panel discussion was conducted on the advantages of Ayeyawady Region as an investment destination.
In the afternoon, foreign and other investors met with local businessmen to discus future collaboration. As part of the fair, participants will conduct site visits to regional housing projects, prawn breeding businesses, and the Pathein Industrial City today.
Chief ministers from regions and states, Ayeyawady Region ministers, ambassadors and officials from foreign embassies in Myanmar, Hluttaw representatives, officials from JICA and JETRO, invited guests, and domestic and foreign entrepreneurs also attended the fair.
