SENIOR
General Min AungHlaing offered soon “a day meal” to a Laotian Buddhist
delegation led by Venerable BounmaSimmaphon at theAureum Palace Hotel in Nay
Pyi Taw yesterday.
At
the invitation of Commander- in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min
AungHlaing during his visit to Laos, the delegation of the Laotian Buddhist
monks is paying a visit to Myanmar from 26 to 30 November to promote Buddhism
and friendship between Laos and Myanmar.
At
the luncheon, Venerable BounmaSimmaphon expressed delight for inviting the
Members of the Sangha from Laos, pledging to promote the Sasana and promoting
friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
Venerable
Bounma Simmaphon presented Buddha images to the Commander-in-Chief and wife as
Dhamma gifts.
Mr.
ChanthavongSeneamatmontry, Deputy Chief of Lao Front for National Construction
and member of the delegation, and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing exchanged
gifts.
The
Laotian delegation met with the Chairman and members of the State
SanghaMahaNayaka Committee in Yangon on 26th November.
The
visiting Buddhist delegation visited Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon in the morning
and visited theUppatathati Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw in the evening.
They
will visit Bagan, Mandalay and Kengtung during their visit, according to the
Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
