Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker receives PRC NPC Ethnic Affairs Committee Vice Chairman

Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein received People’s Republic of China (PRC) National People’s Congress (NPC) Ethnic Affairs Committee Vice Chairman Mr. Tondrub Wangben and party at Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

The meeting was attended by Pyithu Hluttaw Ethnic Affairs and Internal Peace Implementation Committee Chairman U Khun Maung Thaung, Secretary U Inn Hton Khar Naw Sam and officials from Pyithu Hluttaw Office.
At the meeting, Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein first said that China-Myanmar paukphaw relation will be raised to that of all round strategic partner relationship. China’s help and assistance to Myanmar on internal peace and ethnic national unity works are much appreciated as internal peace and unity is very important for a country’s development. The Government and Hluttaw had enacted laws to protect the rights of the ethnic nationals and an ethnic affairs ministry was established to implement and maintain equality, culture and traditions of ethnic nationals. Similarly, if China support and assist Myanmar’s works for internal peace, national reconciliation and establishment of a federal democracy system, the works of internal peace and unity of ethnic nationals sector will be quick and effective, said the deputy Speaker.
In return PRC NPC Ethnic Affairs Committee Vice Chairman said China and Myanmar are quite similar in political history because both had many ethnic nationals living together. Stability and unity is crucial for a country’s development and thus China had placed much emphasis on ethnic national rights, equality and cultural traditions. As Myanmar is striving for the rights of ethnic nationals and unity to achieve peace, China will share its experience and provide assistance said the Vice Chairman.
