observed the education, healthcare and businesses operating normally.
The

attacks, the stability and rule of law in the district, repatriation of
returnees and rehabilitation in the district.
U
Soe Aung said Myanmar’s side has been ready for accepting returnees since 23
January this year. He said no returnee came back on 15 November, the day agreed
by both Myanmar and Bangladesh to repatriate returnees. He said Bangladesh did
not notify the reason no returnees came back.
He
said they would first review the returnees with the list sent by Bangladesh and
then issue the National Verification Cards, perform medical examinations and
send them to Hla Phoe Khaung Reception Centre for temporary accommodations.
He
said the returnees will be provided with rice, cooking oil, lentils, salt and a
daily wage of Ks1,000. He said the returnees will be provided with the
materials to rebuild their houses in their village of origin and they will be
reimbursed with the local daily wages for their participation in the construction
process.
The
media group then travelled to Hla Phoe Khaung Reception Centre and observed the
housings for returnees, wells, toilets, medical centers, playgrounds for
children, women’s lodgings, the assembled board houses donated by China, and
temporary classrooms.

the centre’s readiness for repatriation and accommodating returnees.
The
media group travelled to Shwe Zar Village in the evening and observed the
Rakhine, Hindu and Muslim communities peacefully coexisting and the village’s
social, economic and education processes.
