Pyidaungsu Hluttaw to send Bill Amending the Legal Supports Law to President

Second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw,15th day of fourth regular meeting was held at the meeting hall of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw in Nay Pyi taw yesterday, approving the Bill amending the Legal Supports Law.


At the meeting, Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than, stated that the draft of the Law of Provision of Legal Support was sent to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw on 14 March 2017. The draft will be sent to the President’s office to be issued today after being signed by the President. According to Pyidaungsu Hluttaw By-Law 81, draft was considered approved and recorded and will be duly announced.

Then, U Win Khaing, Union Minister for Construction, explained the principle of the Draft Law of the Union Budget and stated that the length the road under the supervision of Road Department is 7180.20 miles in total including tarred road 4839.2 miles, asphalt road 339.1 miles, gravel road 724.3 miles and concrete road 324.2 miles and earthen road 587.1 miles.

He continued that the Bridge Department has finished maintenance works on 506 over 180 feet-long bridges at the end of March 2017 and targeted to do regular and emergency repairing and maintenance works on under 180 feet-long bridges. The works also include prompt repairing the roads and bridges damaged by natural disasters, relieving the number of toll-gates and more reducing in 2017. Since the Ministry of Construction is liable to absorb the cost of lighting at all the bridges across the country, the cost will be allotted from the Maintenance Fund.

Budget allotment is also made for the installation of electrical balances for checking the extra-weight of the truck. The cost of maintenance of the base-stations across the country, maintenance of admin-supporting cars and boats and the cost of purchasing the research investigation machinery are to be also allotted from Maintenance Fund.

All the maintenance expenses officially allowed by the state budget will be used in line with the financial rules and regulations.
