Pyidaungsu Hluttaw approves motion on reducing of expenditure for 130 projects of Ministry of Industry

Dr Myat Nyarna Soe put forward a motion to grant Ks116.52 billion less than the designated value for 130 existing and future projects — Ministry of Industry, works of Industry Cooperation Department, 8 new enterprises of Industrial Supervision & Inspection Department, 22 works from No. 1 Steel Mill (Myingyan), 44 projects (under way) including 13 enterprises from no 2 steel mill (PinPet) and added works, 62 added works, 15 new enterprises, enterprise of purchase and installing machineries, purchase and repair work of furniture and vehicles.

As regards the motion, U Khin Maung Cho, Union Minister for Industry discussed the allotment of Ks590.69 million out of reduced amounts for three factories. He said that the ministry accepted the motion to assess how to carry out after suspending investments in some factories by forming assessment committees. Then the minister submitted to grant the revised allotment.

Secretary of Combining Committee on the Bill replied that the proposal of the Hluttaw to grant Ks590.69 million to purchase and install machinery needed for No. 4 textile mill in Pwintbyu and Heavy Industry (Kyaukse) was approved by the combining committee.

Concerning that motion, U Maung Myint of Minkin Constituency made an objection over the suspension of the PinPet steel mill. In answer to the objection, U Khin Maung Cho replied that there was not any cause to worry about the factory.

Then, th speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw invited the votes of parliamentarians as to the motion submitted by the combining committee of the bill by pressing buttons of the machines, and it was announced that the motion was approved by 335 votes in support, 192 in objection and 8 abstentions.
