Ethnic language support programmes to reduce school dropout rates

 


ETHNIC language support programmes aim to reduce school dropout rates caused by language barriers. Since the 2017-2018 academic year, the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs and the Ministry of Education have jointly appointed ethnic language teaching assistants and teachers to support these programmes.

The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development has pledged to provide financial assistance and essential agricultural inputs to coffee growers in Shan State (South) to expand production and increase coffee exports.

Magway Region targets nearly 40,000 acres of long-staple cotton this FY

 


A total of 39,749 acres of long-staple cotton are planned for cultivation in Minhla Township, Magway Region, during the current financial year, with 7,858 acres planted to date, according to the Magway Region Department of Agriculture.

Tax exemptions on imports of diesel, fertilizer and LNG extended through end-Aug

 


The Ministry of Finance and Revenue has announced that tax exemptions on imports of diesel, fertilizer and liquefied natural gas (LNG) have been extended until the end of August.
