Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Dr Khin Naing Oo met Korean Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Mr Bae Byeongsoo and his delegation at the Central Bank of Myanmar meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw at 11 am yesterday.
During
the meeting, the Korean Chargé d’Affaires said Korean companies already investing in
Myanmar, as well as those interested in investing in the country, could benefit
from increased bilateral cooperation and investment.
Dr
Khin Naing Oo said discussions would continue to facilitate direct payments in
the currencies of the Republic of Korea and other regional countries, which
would help facilitate bilateral trade.
They
also discussed banking and foreign exchange matters between Myanmar and the
Republic of Korea, including the operations of Korean banks with branches and
subsidiaries in Myanmar. Deputy governors of the Central Bank of Myanmar and
departmental officials also attended the meeting.
