The 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China was celebrated in Mandalay yesterday at the Mingala Mandalay Hotel in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay Region.
The
ceremony was attended by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Commander
Brig-Gen Aung Htay of the Central Command, Region Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Kyaw
Moe, regional ministers and officials, Consul-General of the People’s Republic
of China in Mandalay Ms Gao Ping, Consul-General of the Indian Consulate in
Mandalay Mr Sundeep Kaushal, officials from the Consulate- General, and
invitees.
The
ceremony was opened with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of
Myanmar and the national anthems of the People’s Republic of China, as Ms Gao
Ping, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China
in Mandalay, delivered a welcoming speech.
The
chief minister of Mandalay Region then delivered a congratulatory speech and
wished the People’s Republic of China peace and prosperity, and the
consul-general of the People’s Republic of China in Mandalay hosted a dinner in
honour of the event.
