Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Yi received a delegation led by Ms Olga Chemodanova, Chairperson of the Belaya Rus Party of the Republic of Belarus, who paid an observation visit to the Hluttaw at Zabuthiri Hall of the Hluttaw Building yesterday afternoon.
The Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker discussed matters on the structure and functions of the Hluttaw, the establishment of committees, and the election of representatives. He elaborated on the Hluttaw’s ongoing efforts to address the public’s needs through parliamentary questions and motions concerning regional development and local issues across constituencies. Furthermore he highlighted the strong friendship and bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and the Republic of Belarus, as well as future cooperation with the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
Ms Olga Chemodanova said that the Republic of Belarus is a reliable friend of Myanmar and stated that her party would assist in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Following the discussions, she signed the guestbook.
Also present at the meeting were Dr Pwint San, Chairman of the Pyithu Hluttaw International Relations Committee, U Hla Thein, spokesperson for the Union Solidarity and Development Party, and officials from the Pyithu Hluttaw Office.
