President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing and his delegation, currently on an official visit to the Russian Federation, visited the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow at 4 pm local time yesterday.
Upon arrival, the President and his delegation were welcomed
by museum officials. During the tour, museum officials guided the delegation
through various exhibits, including full-scale replicas of the first Soviet
satellite, Yuri Gagarin’s spacecraft, and his biographical gallery, as well as
spacesuits, historical space cameras, lunar landers, meteorites and miniature
models of satellite launch stations. President U Min Aung Hlaing inquired about
matters of interest, signed the guest book and exchanged commemorative gifts
with the museum director.
Opened on 10 April 1981 to commemorate achievements in human
space exploration, the museum is situated at the base of the 107-metre-tall
“Monument to the Conquerors of Space” near VDNKh Metro Station. It houses more
than 85,000 artefacts documenting the history of Soviet and Russian space
exploration.
In the evening, the President and his delegation took a river
cruise along the Moscow River to observe Moscow’s urban planning, riverbank
conservation, and green-zone management.
