Offenders involved in online scam arrested in Shan State

 

TATMADAW columns arrested three offenders involved in an online scam together with gambling materials in Mongyai Township, Shan State (North), yesterday.

Acting on the tip-off, a Tatmadaw column conducted a security operation in Mongyai of Shan State (North) and arrested three Chinese nationals who had illegally crossed the border into Myanmar and were engaged in online scam and gambling activities were arrested along with equipment used in the illegal activities, about 26,000 metres southeast of Mongyai and about 5,000 metres south of Manphai Village. The seized items included one 50-foot-long by 20-footwide bamboo-mat partitioned and corrugated-iron-roofed building, one temporary tarpaulin tent measuring 20 feet by 10 feet, one measuring 10 feet by 15 feet, one measuring 15 feet by 10 feet, one measuring 20 feet by 15 feet, and one measuring 20 feet by 20 feet, 25 mobile phones, five all-in-one computers, two power stations, one Starlink device, 10 walkie-talkies, and other equipment related to the gambling operations.

All seized materials and equipment will be managed according to proper procedures, and the illegal buildings will also be systematically dismantled, and those involved will be taken action against in accordance with the existing law.
