Search, rescue and rehabilitation efforts are underway for flood-affected residents in Kyonpyaw District, Ayeyawady Region, following flooding caused by a breach in an embankment in Laymyethna Township.

Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw met district officials to review the flooding
situation, evacuation centres, crop damage, relief supplies and transport
routes. He visited flood shelters in Kyonpyaw and Yekyi townships, where he
encouraged residents and provided rice, cooking oil, drinking water and other
food supplies. He inspected flooded bridges and roads, rice stockpiles and a
water purification machine installed to provide clean water to flood-affected
residents, according to the report.
