Union Health Minister attends Drug Security Forum in Russia

 

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win attended the Drug Security Forum in Russia on 18 June.

At the forum, Director-General for Food and Drug Administration Dr Ye Myint acted as speaker and discussed the enhancement of international cooperation to ensure continuous, sufficient and accessible availability of medicines and drug registration processes of Myanmar and the import of medicines produced in Russia.

The Union minister received the officials of Rosatom Company in Saint Petersburg in the evening, and exchanged views on radionuclide diagnosis and treatment in Russia and support for Russia in these sectors of Myanmar.

On 19 June, the Union minister received Russian Health Minister Mr Mikhail Murashko, and exchanged views on the matters contained in MoU between the two ministries signed during the visit of the Head of the State in March 2025 such as human resource development in health sectors, exchange visit for medical professionals between tow countries and training, cooperation in upgrading Taunggyi Sao San Tun Hospital, plans to sign MoU to import Russian-made medicines and medical supplies, further cooperation in radionuclide treatment and cancer treatment activities.

On 21 June, the Union minister and party visited the pharmaceutical production facility of Geropharm Company in St Petersburg.
