Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Tun Ohn and officials, took five precepts from Sayadaw Baddhanta Pinya Thiri, Chair of the Township Sangha Nayaka from Maha Visuddha Rama Tike Thit, NyaungU Township on 10 September.
The
Union Minister donated K5 million and offertories and presented religious
affairs.
Afterwards,
the Union Minister inspected the strength of Shwesigon Pagoda, King Bayint
Naung’s Bell which is one of the world’s heritage items, a “Memory of the
World”, and King Kyansittha’s Stone Inscription, and instructed requirements.
During
his tour to NyaungU, the Union Minister met with the employees of the NyaungU
District Department of Religious Affairs in Zabudipa Hall.
The
Union Minister also held a meeting with the Deputy Minister, the
Director-General of the Department of Archaeological and National Museum,
Director of Bagan Sub-Department, officials of the NyaungU District
Administration Council, and instructed to work together and coordinate for the
conservation activities of Bagan archaeological site.
