THE Consultation meeting on private sector’s inputs on the drafted Myanmar Economic Recovery Plan (MERP) developed by the Working Committee to address the impact of COVID-19 on Myanmar Economy was virtually held yesterday afternoon at Office No. (1), Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations.
The
meeting was attended by U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Investment and
Foreign Economic Relations and the Chairman of Working Committee, Deputy
Minister U Than Aung Kyaw, Dr Wah Wah Maung, Secretary of Working Committee and
Director-General for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, and President,
Vice-President and Central Executive Committee Members from the Republic of the
Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
At
the meeting, Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo delivered the opening remarks and U
Zaw Min Win, President of UMFCCI briefed all on the private sector cooperation
for successful implementation of the MERP. On behalf of the private sectors, U
Wai Phyo, Vice-President of UMFCCI presented the comments and inputs of private
sectors on the MERP (draft) along with the future cooperation programme in
implementing the relevant action plans in the MERP. After hearing the report,
the Union Minister acknowledged the inputs and recommendations of the private
sector, and as a living document, recommendations will be considered to
incorporate in the MERP.
