Pyidaungsu Hluttaw discusses EURO 29.96 mln from Netherlands, US$ 100 mln loan from IDA

At the 13th day meeting of the Second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s 12th regular session held at Pyidaungsu Hluttaw meeting hall yesterday morning where EURO 29.96 million and US$ 100 million loans were discussed among others.

Joint Bill Committee’s findings and comments report on the bill amending Bar Council Act sent with comments by the President was first read by committee secretary Dr. Myat Nyana Soe and Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the bill to register their names.

Next, Joint Bill Committee secretary Dr. Myat Nyana Soe tabled a motion to approve paragraph by paragraph the Tax Management Bill sent by the Union Government. The motion was discussed by Hluttaw representatives and Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win after which the Hluttaw’s decision was obtained and the bill approved.

Afterwards, EURO 29.96 million loan from Netherlands’ FMO (Nederlandse Finacierings-Maatschappij voor Ontwikkelingslanden or the Netherlands Development Finance Company) and ING (Internationale Nederlanden Groep) Bank to conduct water distribution project in Mandalay Region Pyigyidagun Township sent by the President was discussed by U Aung Zaw Myint of Amarapura constituency, Dr. Hla Moe of Aungmyaythazan constituency, U Soe Thein of Kayah State constituency 9, U Khin Cho of Hlinebwe constituency, Dr. Than Aung Soe of Minhla constituency, U Myo Naing of Chanayethazan constituency, Dr. Sai Hla Thein of Chamyathazi constituency, U Thaung Htay Lin of Patheingyi constituency, U Tun Tun Oo of Mandalay Region constituency 2, U Aung Min of Zalun constituency, U Ohn Khin of Palaw constituency, U Nyein Thit of Mahaaungmye constituency, U Kyaw Soe Lin of Pyigyidagun constituency and U Tin Maung Win of Seikkan constituency.

Following this, World Bank International Development Association (IDA) loan $ 100 million to Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement sent by the President for financial support program to expecting mothers and under 2 years old children were discussed by Daw Thandar of Einme constituency, U Whey Tin of Chin State constituency 11, Dr. Tin Tin Win of Bago Region constituency 5, U Myo Zaw Oo of Lewe constituency, U Yan Lin of Kyaiklat constituency. U Thet Naung of Lahe constituency, Dr. Khin Soe Soe of Pyay constituency, Dr. Soe Moe Thu of Myaungmya constituency, U Kyaw Ngwe of Magway Region constituency 10, U Saw of NyaungU constituency, Tatmadaw Pyithu Hluttaw representative Lt-Col Khin Maung Kyi, U Thein Tun of Kyaunggon constituency, U Kyaw Thaung of Sagaing Region constituency 1 and U Tun Wei of Phaungpyin constituency.

Later, Joint Public Accounts Committee Vice Chairman 2 U Saw Than Htut read the committee’s Fiscal Year 2018-2019 first six months National Planning report 9/2019 and then tabled a motion the Hluttaw to deliberate on it. Joint Public Accounts Committee member U Kyaw Tint also read the committee’s Fiscal Year 2018-2019 first six months Union Budget report 10/2019 and tabled a motion for the Hluttaw to deliberate on it. After each report was read and motion tabled Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced for interested Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the matters to register their names and announced further that the remaining programs will be conducted in the 13th regular session.

Finally, the meeting was adjourned and announcement made for 14th day meeting of the Second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s 12th regular session to be held on Friday, 7 June.
