During the meeting,
they openly discussed increased cooperation on Myanmar-Laos bilateral
and military relations, not tolerating actions or organizations basing
themselves in Myanmar territory and damaging the economy and stability
of neighbouring countries, ongoing tasks related to the five principles
of peaceful coexistence, and friendly visits from military chiefs.
They also discussed cooperating on Mekong River defence, border security and eradicating illegal drugs, exchanging information to combat terrorism, organizing visits by the Sangha to proliferate Theravada Buddhism, sending delegations from the military’s culture, medical, sports teams and grass-roots level on goodwill visits, and exchanging naval and aeronautical technology, according to news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
