The letter of acknowledge was signed by the President of Power China Resources Ltd (SINOHYDRO) Mr. Sheng Yuming and the President of Supreme Trading Company Limited Dr. Sein Myint in the presence of Myanmar ambassador to china U Thit Lin Own and Chinese ambassador to Myanmar Mr.Hong Liang.
The power plant will be built in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, and it will purchase natural gas from the Shwe Natural Gas Project to generate electricity.
For this project, Ministry of Electricity and Energy issued the Notice to Proceed with the permission of Union Government to the project which is considered an important project for the Myanmar-China economic corridor.
Upon completion, the project can produce 135 Mega Watt and will transport the power to the grid to supply Rakhine State.
