Chief
Minister of Rakhine State U Nyi Pu and his delegation yesterday visited Yanbye
Island where development projects are underway.
In
the morning, he inspected a 150-feet by 75-feet building of the technical
school in Kyaukpyu, which was 90 per cent complete, and a three-storey building
of the education college.
At
the Rammawady Hall of the town, they met Rakhine State, district and
township-level officials, members of parliament, town elders, and members of
the Women Affairs Federation, as well as Maternal and Child Welfare
Association.
The
chief minister said he found advantages, as well as weak points in the
development undertakings of the state, within the two-year period. He assured
responsibility and accountability in carrying out the tasks in the new fiscal
year through corruption-free and transparent services. He said cooperative
efforts will be made to win the public’s trust while prioritising regional
peace and stability.
At
the Kyaukpyu District Hospital, the chief minister and his delegation visited
the patients and inspected the construction of an eight-unit four-storey
building for the health staff and the maintenance of a salt-water sluice gate
at a village.
On
12 May, the chief minister inspected the section-wise laying of tar, gravel and
earth, and the bridges on Yanbye-Kyauknimaw road and salt-water prevention
banks in Thin Pin Chaung village.
In
the afternoon, he met departmental personnel, local people, town elders and
ward/village administrators at the General Administration Department.
In
the evening, he inspected the construction of village-to-village roads, a 40-ft
RC bridge on Yangon-Kyaukpyu road, and the retaining wall of Myinpyin radar
station.
