The
opening ceremony for a new printing press, Goss Community 4 High Tower Four
Unit Web Offset, bought by the Ministry of Information, News and Periodicals,
Enterprise (NPE) in the 2017-2018 budget year was held at Myanma Alinn
newspaper’s office, Natmauk Lane (1), Bahan Township, Yangon, yesterday
morning.
Union
Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min
Thein, NPE’s Managing Director U Kyaw Soe, and Goss Graphic Systems (China) Co.
Ltd. Global Sales Director Peter Kirwan cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially
open the printing press.
Next,
Dr. Pe Myint and U Phyo Min Thein unveiled the commemorative plaque and
observed the new printing press.
The
Goss Community 4 High Tower Four Unit Web Offset is capable of printing 35,000
copies of high print quality newspapers per hour.
A
4-High Tower unit can print eight pages of colour tabloid size newspapers, and
as the press has four 4-High Tower units, it can print 32 pages of a newspaper
simultaneously.
