A
Myanmar-China bilateral security and rule of law ministerial-level meeting was
held at the assembly hall of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw
yesterday afternoon.
The
meeting was attended by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, along
with Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Soe, the Chief of Police of
the Myanmar Police Force, Police Maj-Gen Aung Win Oo, and other high-ranking
officials of the ministry, while the Chinese delegation was led by Zhao Kezhi,
member of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Public Security, and other
officials.
At
the meeting, they discussed matters related to cooperation in bilateral
security, rule of law and stability, cooperation of countries in the Mekong
region, anti-drugs and anti-human trafficking works, cracking down on
cross-border gambling and security measures on the Myanmar-China cooperative
projects.
The
ministers from the two nations then signed the minutes of the meeting.
Later,
Zhao Kezhi donated drug-detecting devices and applications worth 14.4 million
yuan, police equipment worth 5 million yuan, and police vehicles, together with
reference documents, worth 18.9 million yuan, donated by the Yunnan Province.
The goodwill delegation, led by member of the CPC Central Committee and
Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi, arrived in Myanmar yesterday afternoon
on the invitation of Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe.
