(12 January 2018)
On this auspicious occasion when the Annual
Conference of the Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners and Seminar is
held in a friendly and cordial manner where you will share, exchange ideas and
discuss with a view to giving the blessings of health to Myanmar citizens with
your knowledge of Myanmar Traditional Medicine, I send these good wishes of
“Metta” whole heartedly for your happiness and peace of mind.
With the objective of promoting the knowledge of
Myanmar Traditional Medicine and the quality of traditional medicines,
improving the code of conduct of Myanmar traditional medicine practitioners and
providing more health care service to the public through traditional medical
science, the Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners Conference has been
held annually with these lofty objectives without fail since 2000 and this year
marks the 18th anniversary. Therefore, it is a cause for great joy and pride.
It is learnt that in conjunction with the 18th
Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners Conference, a seminar will also be
held. It is required to implement the following objectives of the symposium: to
save the treatment methods of traditional practitioners for every disease and
to practice them at the traditional medicine hospitals and clinics; to promote
cooperation with international organizations to be able to promote the standard
of Myanmar traditional medicine; to disseminate health knowledge to the
housewives through Myanmar traditional medicine; to preserve the healing
practices and methods of Myanmar traditional medicine, which is based on the
Four Great Nayar as a national heritage; and to review and test the old Myanmar
traditional medicine teaching methods which have been used throughout the ages.
To fulfill the above objectives for the development and advancement of Myanmar Traditional
Medicine, it is necessary for all Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners
and related professionals to strive, discuss, coordinate and exert their
concerted efforts.
In the world today, we have noticed that alternative
medicine practices which are based on natural fruits, herbs and vines are free
from harmful side effects and very potent and effective. Because of this, this
type of healing practice has received great attention and widespread support
and promotion. Myanmar traditional medicine practitioners should therefore
discuss and share their professional skills with each other as part of efforts
for preventing extinction of their healing practices and methods. They should
collaborate to find new healing methods. Furthermore, they should use the
Myanmar Traditional Medicine healing practices which do not have harmful side
effects and healing practices which can prevent diseases to reach the people as
widely as possible so that these healing practices will be assimilated and used
by them. It is also necessary for all of you to reap the best results by
discussing and sharing knowledge among practitioners with different healing
methods.
In conclusion, I wish to send this Message of Good
Wishes for the successful achievement of the objectives of the 18th Myanmar
Traditional Medicine Practitioners Conference, which is held to promote the dignity
of Myanmar traditional medicine which is now on the shoulder of all Myanmar
traditional practitioners. May you all discuss and share experiences and
knowledge in unity in this conference and seminar and may you all be able to
provide your health care services to the people with your Myanmar Traditional
Medicine healing practices.
