Monsoon paddy harvested in Gan Gawgyun village, Sittway

Department of Agriculture and farmers made monsoon paddy harvesting works at a field of Gan Gawgyun Village, Sittway Township, Rakhine State on 9 November.


U Tin Aung District paddy seeds in charge, U Tin Aye township’s head and staff of Department of Agriculture included at this harvesting work done at the monsoon paddy standard field (1.30 acres) of U Tha Zan Aung, field No (569), owner no (113/1) in Gan Gawgyun Village cultivated by the method of System of Rice Intensification (SRI).

While harvesting the field cultivated Sin Thwe Latt paddy species, it yielded 119.29 baskets before dry and 100.16 baskets after dry. U Tin Aye Township head of Department of Agriculture suggested and discussed with the farmers to grow the paddy with SRI method as cultivating with SRI method has the advantages of less sowing paddy seeds are needed, well plants reproduction, developing panicles and increasing yields.
