4th Myanmar-Bangladesh meeting held

The 4th Myanmar-Bangladesh Central-Level Meeting on Border Security and Law Enforcement Cooperation was held yesterday afternoon in Grand Ballroom 2 of the Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

Present at the meeting were high-ranking officials of the Myanmar Police Force, Police Brigadier General Myo Swe Win, members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Mr. Abul Hossain, Director-General of the Bangladesh Border Guard Police, and high ranking officials of Bangladesh’s Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the meeting, matters to be performed out of the agreements of the meeting on border areas at the 3rd meeting between the Myanmar Police Force and Bangladesh Border Guards, matters to be implemented on upgrading bilateral cooperation for security and law enforcement at the border area, commanding and controlling officer-level regular flag hoisting meetings, interexchange of information with the changing times, cooperation on drug trafficking, terrorism, human trafficking and cross-border crime, illicit fishing, repatriation and arrest of criminals related to ARSA extremist terrorist attacks, and establishment of a Border Liaison Office (BLO) were discussed, it was learnt.
Police Chief Aung Win Oo of the Myanmar Police Force met separately with Mr. Abul Hossain and party, who were hosted with a dinner in Grand Ballroom 2 of the Thingaha Hotel.—Myanmar News Agency
