Authorities promise to provide food, security to Muslim villagers in Buthidaung

Local authorities negotiated a group of Muslim villagers who were on their way to Bangladesh on 27th September, pledging to provide food and security to them if they wish to stay in their villages.


The villagers from three Muslim villages in Buthidaung Township told the authorities that they fled their villagers as the region is unstable and the villagers from their neighbour villagers also fled to Bangladesh to live together with their same nationalities.

They are also facing challenges for their livelihood at their villagers and feeling that they are insecure from dangers, said the villagers.

The authorities also promised to take actions against any threats to them and offered to provide transportation to them to return their villagers.
