 July 30, 2017
It is announced that the special meeting of Health Management has decided to put off Taung Byone Festival which is originally scheduled to hold from 31 July to 7 August till the Seasonal Inflenza A (H1N1) pdm 2009 is under control.

The meeting was held at the meeting hall of the office of Mandalay Regional Government  in the afternoon of 30 July. Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, Dr Zaw Myint Maung and ministers, Police Major of Mandalay Region Police Force, Head of Regional Health Department, Commissioner of Pyin Oo Lwin District General Administration Office, Administrator of Madaya Township Administration Office, members of Board of Trustee of Taung Byone Wish FulfillingPagoda and  responsible personnel of Health Department  attended the meeting.

H1N1 is easily infectious through the respiratory tract to other people and the H1N1 break out is coinciding with Taung Byone Festival. There are about 100,000 people visiting daily Taung Byone Festival and it is of great concern for people to allow such a huge crowd gathering in a place while the H1N1 is spreading fast among people. Therefore the Regional Government  had to decide to put off the Taung Byone Festival.
