Chief
Minister of Rakhine State U Nyi Pu and his cabinet members inspected
development undertakings in Maungtaw Township in the state yesterday, visiting
a fish hatchery at Myothugyi village in the morning.
Accompanied
by Social Welfare Minister Dr Chan Tha, Minister for Agriculture, Livestock,
Forestry and Minerals U Kyaw Lwin and Minister for Security and Border Affairs
Col Phone Tint, cabinet Secretary U Tin Maung Swe and departmental personnel,
the chief minister visited Myakantha reservoir which supplies water to
Maungtaw. He spoke of the need to make arrangement for the reservoir to irrigate
crops. The chief minister and party then observed tractors at work at a paddy
field near Shweyinaye village.
They
observed mobile teams of the Ministry of Health Sports providing health care
for the locals at Inchaung village. At Mawrawady village, they inspected the
releasing fingerlings at the fish farm set up with the funds provided by
Rakhine State government.
Their
inspection tour also included Kyaungtaung village-tract where mobile teams were
providing health care for locals, and building of 100 units of low-cost houses
at Kyaukpandu village.
In
the afternoon, they met with locals at Indin village and provided solar panels,
inverters, light bulbs, florescent lamps.
